Library · Meeting of July 13, 2026
Reading Library Trustees approved the library as a hygiene-supply donation site in a 5-0 roll call vote. The board also appointed a resident identified as Pat to the town's Celebration Trust Committee and reviewed procedures for a July 14 joint meeting with the Select Board to fill a trustee vacancy. Staff member Amy reported the library's fax and printing deficit has grown to roughly $2,700 as fax volume hit almost 4,600 pages in fiscal year 2026, and floated a possible fee increase, saying "it's a very tight financial time," with any vote deferred to February.
The library also disclosed it bought a discounted, ADA-compliant self-check kiosk from a Greenfield library for about $5,000, versus a list price above $6,500. Trustees approved the June 8 minutes and voted to adjourn, both unanimously by roll call.
