The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Reading Police Department's official public log for the period March 16–22, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).


Monday, March 16, 8:44 a.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint: A white van/SUV was reported operating erratically near the 95 block of Walkers Brook Drive.

Monday, March 16, 12:45 p.m., School Alarm: A panic alarm activated in the RISE administrative office at Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oakland Road.

Monday, March 16, 12:54 p.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint: A white pickup truck was reported parked on the sidewalk on the 100 block of Salem Street.

Monday, March 16, 1:24 p.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A crash was reported in the Market Basket parking lot, 30 General Way.

Monday, March 16, 1:46 p.m., Suspicious Person: A distressed female was observed pacing outside a business on the 28 block of Gould Street.

Monday, March 16, 3:46 p.m., Harassment: A resident on the 200 block of Washington Street reported being harassed by a neighbor.

Monday, March 16, 4:10 p.m., Property Damage: A neighbor was reported causing damage to property on the 12 block of Libby Avenue.

Monday, March 16, 4:32 p.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A grey Toyota Venza was struck while parked at the depot handicap ramp, 36 Lincoln Street.

Monday, March 16, 7:03 p.m., Sewage: A homeowner on the 69 block of Lowell Street reported a possible sewage backup.

Tuesday, March 17, 1:30–7:49 a.m., Storm Hazards: Multiple tree-down and wire-down calls overnight into the morning, including a fallen tree with wires down on the 100 block of Van Norden Road, a tree taking down power lines on the 8 block of Nichols Road, a split tree with branches down on the 1000 block of Main Street, a tree hanging over Main Street near the 1037 block, a tree down on Eaton Street near Green Street, a tree down on Salem Street near the rotary, and a tree behind Sanborn Lane into Elderberry Lane; roads were addressed and utilities responded.

Tuesday, March 17, 1:47 a.m., School Burglar Alarm: A burglar alarm activated at door 12 of Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oakland Road.

Tuesday, March 17, 1:47 a.m., Fire Alarm: A general fire alarm transmitted at 2A Elderberry Lane.

Tuesday, March 17, 1:58 a.m., Carbon Monoxide Alarm: A CO alarm activated at Bunratty Tavern, 620 Main Street.

Tuesday, March 17, 1:59 a.m., Carbon Monoxide Alarm: A CO alarm activated at 30 Haven Street.

Tuesday, March 17, 2:00 a.m., Suspicious Vehicle: A female on the 300 block of Haverhill Street reported a suspicious vehicle driving in the area.

Tuesday, March 17, 3:53 a.m., Transformer: A transformer blew with arcing and sparking on the 100 block of Salem Street.

Tuesday, March 17, 4:05 a.m., Possible Elevator Entrapment: Reported at 22 Gould Street.

Tuesday, March 17, 4:27–4:37 a.m., Carbon Monoxide Alarms: CO alarm activations reported at 163 Pearl Street and 128 Pearl Street.

Tuesday, March 17, 7:37 a.m., Road Closure: Bancroft Avenue at Middlesex Avenue was closed with detours in place.

Tuesday, March 17, 11:09 a.m., Unwanted Guest: An irate female customer was reported inside Stop & Shop, 25 Walkers Brook Drive.

Tuesday, March 17, 1:28 p.m., Animal Call: A brown dog on a green harness was found running loose on the 200 block of Forest Street.

Tuesday, March 17, 1:59 p.m., Animal Attack: A dog was reported attacked by a raccoon on the 100 block of Prescott Street.

Tuesday, March 17, 3:55 p.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: An employee's vehicle was struck while the employee was working in the Market Basket parking lot, 30 General Way.

Tuesday, March 17, 4:46 p.m., Hazard: A fence blew into the roadway on the 9 block of Parkman Road.

Tuesday, March 17, 7:02 p.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with no injuries was reported at Main Street and Salem Street.

Wednesday, March 18, 6:04 a.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint: A dark-colored SUV was reported driving erratically near Haven Street and High Street.

Wednesday, March 18, 7:09 a.m., Road Closure: Bancroft Avenue was closed from Middlesex Avenue to 60 Bancroft Avenue.

Wednesday, March 18, 7:34 a.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A minor two-car crash with no injuries was reported at Planet Fitness, 275 Salem Street.

Wednesday, March 18, 8:41 a.m., Panic Alarm: A panic alarm activated at Middlesex Savings Bank, 55 Walkers Brook Drive.

Wednesday, March 18, 10:03 a.m., Weapons/Ammunition: Officers retrieved ammunition for disposal from the 500 block of Franklin Street.

Wednesday, March 18, 1:36 p.m., Downed Wire: A passerby reported a wire down on the sidewalk near 191 Main Street.

Wednesday, March 18, 1:47 p.m., Identity Theft/Fraud: A male reported to the lobby that two National Grid accounts had been fraudulently opened in his name; the incident occurred at the 16 block of Fairmount Road.

Wednesday, March 18, 1:47 p.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint: A black Range Rover was reported traveling at a high rate of speed near Main Street and Harnden Street.

Wednesday, March 18, 4:37 p.m., Suspicious: An employee at Stop & Shop, 25 Walkers Brook Drive, reported suspicious luggage outside the building.

Wednesday, March 18, 6:51 p.m., Suspicious Person: A resident on the 4 block of Bartlett Circle reported a suspicious female in the area.

Thursday, March 19, 7:07 a.m., Road Closure: Bancroft Avenue from Middlesex Avenue to Mt. Vernon Street was closed with no access.

Thursday, March 19, 8:54 a.m., Road Closure: Pearl Street was blocked from Wakefield Street to Linnea Lane with no access.

Thursday, March 19, 9:45 a.m., Hazard: A broken tree was reported hanging over the sidewalk on the 1000 block of Main Street.

Thursday, March 19, 10:32 a.m., Building Check/Residential: A female at 30 Haven Street reported that someone had been entering her apartment.

Thursday, March 19, 12:07 p.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with unknown injuries was reported at Main Street and Haven Street.

Thursday, March 19, 2:28 p.m., Building Check: Officers were directed by the Health Department to check a residence on the 18 block of Tamarack Road regarding a bed bug infestation complaint.

Thursday, March 19, 3:42 p.m., Neighbor Dispute: A caller on the 7 block of Beverly Road reported a neighbor threatening to poison their dog.

Thursday, March 19, 4:46 p.m., Youths: Youths on electric bikes were reported being disrespectful to patrons in the Jordan's Furniture parking lot, 50 Walkers Brook Drive.

Friday, March 20, 6:52 a.m., Noise Complaint: A resident on the 57 block of Pearl Street reported construction work beginning before 7 a.m.

Friday, March 20, 6:58 a.m., Larceny: A petty theft was reported at 139 Washington Street.

Friday, March 20, 10:15 a.m., Traffic Control: An officer assisted with an oversized load on Franklin Street near Franklin Terrace Road.

Friday, March 20, 3:16 p.m., Youths: Youths were reported running around and being disrespectful at Jordan's Furniture, 50 Walkers Brook Drive.

Friday, March 20, 3:58 p.m., Shoplifting: A manager at Stop & Shop, 25 Walkers Brook Drive, requested an officer for a shoplifting report.

Friday, March 20, 5:43 p.m., Disturbance: A 76-year-old female was reported being aggressive with staff at Reading Health/Rehab, 1364 Main Street.

Friday, March 20, 6:12 p.m., Arrest: A motor vehicle stop at Camp Curtis Guild, 25 Haverhill Street, led to an arrest. (Arrest details, name, age, town of residence, and charges, were not included in the official log text provided. Editor must obtain full arrest details before publication.)

Friday, March 20, 7:04 p.m., Youths: Youths were reported lying in the road near Salem Street and Harnden Street.

Friday, March 20, 11:26 p.m., Noise Complaint: A female at 20 Woburn Street reported noise coming from a neighboring apartment.

Saturday, March 21, 12:39 a.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint: A possible drunk driver was reported near Bancroft Avenue and Middlesex Avenue.

Saturday, March 21, 7:33 a.m., Assault: A nurse at Reading Health/Rehab, 1364 Main Street, reported that a patient had struck another patient overnight.

Saturday, March 21, 8:31 a.m., Road Closure: Belmont Street at Salem Street was closed due to a tree in the road.

Saturday, March 21, 9:25 a.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A minor two-car crash with no injuries was reported at Lowell Street and Barrows Road; fire department was requested to evaluate a party involved.

Saturday, March 21, 10:28 a.m., Fuel Leak: A dirt bike was reported leaking gas in front of REI Sporting Goods, 279 Salem Street.

Saturday, March 21, 11:32 a.m., Disturbance: A caller near the American Legion Post, 37 Ash Street, reported a male yelling at her.

Saturday, March 21, 3:31 p.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A minor two-car crash with no injuries was reported at Leaning Elm Drive and Main Street.

Saturday, March 21, 8:36 p.m., Youths: Youths were reported banging on doors on the 24 block of Azalea Circle.

Saturday, March 21, 10:05 p.m., Noise Complaint: A caller on the 18 block of Aurele Circle reported a neighbor playing loud music.

Sunday, March 22, 12:26 p.m., Motor Vehicle Crash: A motor vehicle was struck in the Market Basket parking lot, 30 General Way.

Sunday, March 22, 6:43 p.m., Fire Alarm: A fire alarm was transmitted at 157 Pearl Street for a light odor of smoke.

Sunday, March 22, 9:11 p.m., Fire Alarm: A fire alarm was transmitted at General Wash, 625 Main Street, for a report of smoke.

Sunday, March 22, 10:52 p.m., Sewage: Sewage water was reported backing up in a basement on the 99 block of Charles Street.
