Reading Launches Let Grow Challenge, Photo Call

READING -- Town Hall opened the door this week to two resident-facing pushes: a free program aimed at giving kids more independence over the summer, and a call for locals to help refresh the town's public image online.

TOWN HALL

The Let Grow Summer Independence Challenge, a free community program, has come to Reading, giving families a structured way to encourage kids to take on more independence, running errands, walking to a friend's house, or other small unsupervised tasks, during the summer months. Separately, Town Hall put out a call for amateur photographers to submit pictures of Reading for use on the town's website and social media, as officials look to refresh both with resident-submitted images.

ELSEWHERE IN THE NEWS

"Here's What About $1 Million Gets You In Reading Real Estate" is the headline on a Reading Patch feature spotlighting a four-bedroom Colonial on a 1.53-acre lot listed for sale in town. Reading Patch reports the listing as an example of what buyers can expect to find near the $1 million mark locally (read it at https://patch.com/massachusetts/reading).
"More Than 180 Restaurants Offer Deals For Restaurant Week: MA Cheap Eats" was the subject of a Reading Patch newsletter noting prix fixe menus are back across Greater Boston and Central Massachusetts, with deals starting at $27. The item was distributed through Patch's regional food coverage rather than reported specifically on Reading (read it at https://patch.com/massachusetts/reading).
