Propane Leak Forces Evacuation on Washington Street
A propane gas tank leak on Washington Street prompted the evacuation of part of a Reading neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, with residents allowed to return home later that day after crews removed the tank, according to Reading police and multiple television news outlets.

Town Manager Jayne Wellman released her second monthly report Tuesday, offering residents a detailed look back at town operations in July. The report is posted on the town's website and covers the range of departmental activity across Reading last month, according to the News Flash release.
Separately, the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project continues its summer spraying program in Reading, using a truck-mounted aerosol sprayer to control mosquito populations through the season. Residents can find the spraying schedule on the town's website.
