Zoning Board · Meeting of November 2, 2026

Reading's Zoning Board of Appeals continued two cases to December 7, including a contested bid for a second accessory dwelling unit at 12 Temple Street. Numerous neighbors spoke against the proposal during public comment even though no vote on the merits was taken. Resident Kristen Heidbrunner, who co-owns a condo unit at the property, said in a submitted letter she was never consulted about the first ADU despite owning half the condo association, calling the prospect of a second unit "deeply concerning." Neighbor Katie Panacchio said construction has disrupted her family since September 2024 and asked the board to deny the application.

Community Development Director Andrew MacNichol told the board no other Reading property currently has two ADUs. The board kept the public comment record open through the December hearing and also continued Case 26-4 for 90 John Carver Road to the same date.
