Reading Conservation Issues Two Road Project Permits
Reading's Conservation Commission closed hearings on two road drainage projects and moved to re-engage a years-old Bond Street shed violation.
Conservation · Meeting of June 24, 2026
Reading's Conservation Commission closed hearings on two road drainage projects and moved to re-engage a years-old Bond Street shed violation. The commission voted 5-0 to issue an order of conditions for the Zero Track Road bridge and culvert project after AECOM project manager Jeffrey DeNicentis presented revised grading that saves two trees, and voted 5-0 to issue a negative determination of applicability for a MassDOT drainage project at Oakland Road and Birch Meadow Drive. Chair Brian Bowe said a shed on a Bond Street property, now owned by the son of a deceased former owner, "clearly" encroaches into a 25-foot wetland buffer, and recommended sending the owner a letter rather than immediate enforcement.
Members also approved $84.93 from the conservation donation account for habitat-garden hose fittings and said the commission's fiscal 2027 budget takes effect July 1 after this year's trail funds ran out roughly three weeks early.
