Conservation · Meeting of August 12, 2026

Reading's Conservation Commission ratified an amended enforcement order for 10 Brentwood Drive and continued two wetlands hearings to Aug. 26. The commission voted 6-0 on all three actions, with members Walter Talbot, Sophia Jones, Rick Keogh, Chirag Sthalekar, Tim Michel and Vice Chair Martha Moore in favor each time. Conservation Administrator Charles Tirone said the enforcement order requires a new survey before the commission decides "incremental steps" on the Brentwood Drive property, with review set for Sept. 9.

Engineer Sean Hassan of McCarty Engineering presented a 304-square-foot addition proposal for 178 Forest Street, continued pending an Aug. 24 site walk. Members also debated whether photos from Johnson Woods showed a true "established trail," with associate member Joseph Fleury asking, "Is there a town definition of what a trail is?" Chair Brian Bowe did not take part in any vote.
