The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Reading Police Department's official public log for the period February 2–8, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Monday, February 2, 11:14 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Hit and Run: A hit-and-run motor vehicle crash was reported in the parking lot of the YMCA on Arthur B. Lord Drive.
Monday, February 2, 13:45 p.m. — Fire Department Response: Firefighters responded to Augustus Court for an activated sprinkler head; no smoke or fire was found.
Monday, February 2, 2:08 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with no injuries was reported in the 600 block of Main Street near Caffe Nero.
Monday, February 2, 3:33 p.m. — Utility Hazard: A pole down with wires sparking and arcing was reported on Elderberry Lane; the fire department responded and a generator was subsequently brought to the building.
Monday, February 2, 4:30 p.m. — Property Damage: A motor vehicle was damaged while obtaining an inspection sticker at a gas station in the 700 block of Main Street.
Monday, February 2, 5:20 p.m. — Unwanted Guest: Building management reported a male camping in the lobby of a business in the 600 block of Main Street; officers responded.
Monday, February 2, 5:43 p.m. — Disturbance: An apparently intoxicated male was reported causing a disturbance in the lobby of the YMCA on Arthur B. Lord Drive.
Tuesday, February 3, 7:25 a.m. — Road Closure: Middlesex Avenue was closed from Lowell Street to Bancroft Avenue. This closure remained in effect through at least Friday, February 6.
Tuesday, February 3, 8:55 a.m. — Traffic Signal Malfunction: Westbound traffic lights at Franklin Street and Main Street were not cycling properly.
Tuesday, February 3, 12:14 p.m. — Suspicious Person: A business owner on the 600 block of Main Street reported concerns about a homeless male in the area; officers responded.
Tuesday, February 3, 12:56 p.m. — Attempted Fraud: A male on Lakeview Avenue reported that a former customer was attempting to defraud him; a report was taken.
Tuesday, February 3, 4:28 p.m. — Fire Department Response: Firefighters responded to a business on the 600 block of Main Street for a reported water problem.
Tuesday, February 3, 4:55 p.m. — Mutual Aid — Motor Vehicle Crash: Wakefield police reported a two-car crash at Walkers Brook Drive; Reading units assisted.
Tuesday, February 3, 7:10 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Stop / Complaint Application: A motor vehicle stop of a grey Ford Transit van at Village Street and Green Street resulted in a complaint application filed for operating with a revoked license and without insurance.
Tuesday, February 3, 9:44 p.m. — Hazard: A possible water main break was reported at Middlesex Avenue and School Street.
Wednesday, February 4, 4:16 a.m. — Fire Alarm: A fire alarm activation was reported at a business in the 200 block of Main Street; the fire department responded.
Wednesday, February 4, 8:37 a.m. — Utility Hazard: A low-hanging wire was reported on Meadow Brook Lane; the fire department responded.
Wednesday, February 4, 1:44 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with no injuries was reported at West Street and the Mobil gas station.
Wednesday, February 4, 3:52 p.m. — Animal Incident: A caller reported that a dog bit another dog at Symonds Field on Symonds Way.
Wednesday, February 4, 4:55 p.m. — Medical Calls: Lift-assist calls with no injuries were responded to on Vine Street at 4:55 p.m. and Bancroft Avenue at 5:42 p.m.
Wednesday, February 4, 5:47 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Complaint: Woburn police reported a motor vehicle operating erratically near West Street and Dunkin' Donuts; officers responded.
Wednesday, February 4, 7:28 p.m. — Medical Call: A lift-assist call with no injuries was responded to on Frank Tanner Drive.

Wednesday, February 4, 8:35 p.m. — Larceny: A male at a restaurant on Walkers Brook Drive placed a food order knowing he could not pay; a report was taken.
Thursday, February 5, 3:12 a.m. — Fire Alarm: A fire alarm activation triggered by water flow was reported at a business on Walkers Brook Drive; the fire department responded.
Thursday, February 5, 7:51 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A passerby reported a two-car crash with no injuries in the 70 block of High Street.
Thursday, February 5, 8:39 a.m. — Fire Department Response: Firefighters responded to Longfellow Road for a reported water problem.
Thursday, February 5, 8:56 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with no injuries was reported at Summer Avenue and Knollwood Road.
Thursday, February 5, 10:38 a.m. — Unwanted Guest: A homeless male was reported repeatedly entering and exiting a bank in the 600 block of Main Street; officers responded.
Thursday, February 5, 2:59 p.m. — Animal Incident: A veterinary nurse reported that she had been bitten by a dog the previous evening; a report was taken.
Thursday, February 5, 3:34 p.m. — Trespass Order: A letter of no-trespass was filed and served in connection with the 600 block of Main Street.
Thursday, February 5, 4:27 p.m. — Animal Incident: A resident on Roma Lane reported being attacked by a neighbor's dog; officers responded.
Thursday, February 5, 5:57 p.m. — Traffic Hazard: Railroad crossing gates at Main Street were stuck in the down position; officers responded.
Thursday, February 5, 6:47 p.m. — Animal Welfare: A caller reported a dog locked inside a vehicle for approximately two hours in the parking area of Walkers Brook Drive; officers responded.
Thursday, February 5, 7:32 p.m. — Suspicious Person: A male was reported walking around the exterior of Woodend Elementary School on Sunset Rock Lane after hours; officers responded.
Thursday, February 5, 8:08 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with no injuries was reported in the parking lot on Haven Street.
Thursday, February 5, 11:00 p.m. — Commercial Alarm: A burglar alarm activated at the Senior Center on Pleasant Street.
Friday, February 6, 5:46 a.m. — Traffic Signal Damage: Traffic lights at Main Street and Salem Street were reported struck and facing the wrong direction for traffic; officers responded.
Friday, February 6, 8:41 a.m. — Gas Odor: An outside odor of gas was reported at the Senior Center on Pleasant Street; the fire department responded.
Friday, February 6, 3:28 p.m. — Mental Health Call: A mental health call for service was responded to on Main Street.
Saturday, February 7, 7:40 a.m. — Assistance: Officers escorted a nurse to see a patient in the 200 block of Main Street, with a follow-up escort also provided that afternoon.
Saturday, February 7, 9:31 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A minor two-car crash with no injuries was reported at Wilson Street and Pleasant Street.
Saturday, February 7, 9:41 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Complaint: A caller reported an aggressive driver attempting to pass other vehicles improperly in the 600 block of Main Street.
Saturday, February 7, 12:19 p.m. — Hazard: A manhole cover was reported off at Chute Street and High Street; officers responded.
