The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Reading Police Department's official public log for the period April 20–26, 2026. Monday, April 20, 3:01 a.m. — Commercial Fire Alarm: Fire department responded to a transmitted box alarm at the Archstone Circle community center area.
Monday, April 20, 3:37 a.m. — Missing Person: A caller reported his adult son left home intoxicated on the Archstone Circle/Community Center area.
Monday, April 20, 11:32 a.m. — Vandalism: A resident on the 100 block of Howard Street reported an ongoing vandalism problem.
Monday, April 20, 1:56 p.m. — Animal Incident: A service animal bit a passerby near the 100 block of Haven Street, prompting an argument at the scene.
Monday, April 20, 3:59 p.m. — Identity Theft: A resident on the 50 block of Glenmere Circle reported a concern about identity theft.
Monday, April 20, 5:59 p.m. — Disturbance: Youths were reported riding a dirt bike on the sport fields near Edgemont Avenue and Barrows Field.
Monday, April 20, 9:21 p.m. — Disturbance: Teenagers were reported being disruptive at the Shell station on the 100 block of Main Street and in its parking lot.
Tuesday, April 21, 7:07 a.m. — Road Closure: Grove Street was closed from Lowell Street to Forest Street.
Tuesday, April 21, 10:46 a.m. — Unwanted Guest: A woman was reported harassing customers on the 30 block of Lincoln Street.
Tuesday, April 21, 3:38 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A woman reported striking another motor vehicle in the Market Basket parking lot on the 30 block of General Way.
Tuesday, April 21, 7:10 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Complaint: A man was reportedly threatened and his vehicle was kicked in the parking lot of Chipotle on the 40 block of Walkers Brook Drive.
Tuesday, April 21, 10:12 p.m. — Disabled Motor Vehicle: A disabled motor vehicle was reported in the roadway on the 300 block of Ash Street.
Wednesday, April 22, 7:12 a.m. — Road Closure: Grove Street was closed from Lowell Street with limited access.
Wednesday, April 22, 12:55 p.m. — Automated Crash Notification: An iPhone-generated crash notification was received for the 100 block of Washington Street; officers responded to investigate.
Wednesday, April 22, 1:47 p.m. — Trespassing: A resident on the 17 block of Selfridge Road reported Austin Prep students cutting through private property; officers monitored the area.
Wednesday, April 22, 7:48 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A man reported his parked car was struck in the Town Hall parking lot on the 16 block of Lowell Street.
Wednesday, April 22, 10:12 p.m. — Larceny: A group left without paying at Chili's restaurant on the 70 block of Walkers Brook Drive.
Thursday, April 23, 6:58 a.m. — Road Closure: Grove Street was closed from Lowell Street to Forest Street.
Thursday, April 23, 11:08 a.m. — Breaking and Entering — Motor Vehicles: Multiple residents on the 90 block of Belmont Street reported breaking and entering into motor vehicles overnight.
Thursday, April 23, 11:34 a.m. — Package Theft: A caller reported packages stolen at the Archstone Circle community center area.
Thursday, April 23, 11:54 a.m. — Fraud: A resident on the 100 block of Timberneck Drive reported an attempted scam.
Thursday, April 23, 1:17 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A minor two-vehicle crash with no reported injuries occurred near Bagel World on the 300 block of Main Street.
Thursday, April 23, 1:59 p.m. — Illegal Dumping: Mattresses were found dumped on property on the 30 block of Oak Ridge Road.
Thursday, April 23, 2:44 p.m. — Larceny: A woman reported AirPods stolen and tracking to a business at Planet Fitness on the 200 block of Salem Street.
Thursday, April 23, 4:01–4:15 p.m. — Disabled Motor Vehicle: A motor vehicle was disabled in the rotary at Salem Street; AAA was en route for a mechanical issue.
Thursday, April 23, 5:57 p.m. — Disturbance: A possible fight involving a large group of teenagers was reported in progress at Reading Memorial High School on the 60 block of Oakland Road.
Thursday, April 23, 9:00 p.m. — Suspicious Person: A woman reported finding an unknown woman dressed in black inside the sanctuary of First Baptist Church on the 40 block of Woburn Street.
Friday, April 24, 7:32 a.m. — Traffic Hazard: All train crossing gates at Main Street and Ash Street were stuck in the down position; MBTA was aware.
Friday, April 24, 1:38 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A pickup truck and trailer struck a utility pole on the 5 block of Gavin Circle; no injuries reported.
Friday, April 24, 1:40 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-vehicle crash with no injuries occurred near the YMCA on Arthur B. Lord Drive.
Friday, April 24, 2:42 p.m. — Suspicious Person: An employee at Sola Salons on the 50 block of General Way reported believing a wanted male had been in the business on April 22.
Friday, April 24, 2:45 p.m. — Harassment: A woman came to the lobby of a building on the 300 block of Main Street to report being harassed.
Friday, April 24, 3:44 p.m. — Suspicious Person: A homeless man was reported setting up camp inside St. Agnes Church on the 180 block of Woburn Street.
Friday, April 24, 6:13 p.m. — Suspicious Person / Possible Break-In: A homeowner on the 80 block of Cross Street reported someone attempted to break into the residence.
Friday, April 24, 7:12 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Complaint: Erratic motor vehicle operation was reported at Salem Street and Pearl Street.
Friday, April 24, 9:28 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Complaint: A motor vehicle was reported operating erratically all over the road at Main Street and Franklin Street.
Saturday, April 25, 9:10 a.m. — Suspicious Person: A passerby reported a man yelling at people and cars near McDonald's on the 400 block of Main Street.
Saturday, April 25, 10:51 a.m. — Animal Incident: A dog was struck by a motor vehicle on the 300 block of Summer Avenue.
Saturday, April 25, 11:04 a.m. — Suspicious Person: A man was reported yelling at passersby in the lot at REI Sporting Goods on the 200 block of Salem Street.
Saturday, April 25, 11:06 a.m. — Hazard: Debris was found dumped in the roadway at West Street and Arcadia Avenue.
Saturday, April 25, 11:51 a.m. — Package Theft: A man reported a stolen package at a building on the 1 block of High Street.
Saturday, April 25, 12:28 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-vehicle crash with no injuries was reported at the Haverhill Street rotary.
Saturday, April 25, 3:19 p.m. — Hazard: Children found a used syringe in a yard on the 12 block of Edwin Street.
Saturday, April 25, 3:23 p.m. — Disturbance: A man was reported being aggressive toward staff at Planet Fitness on the 200 block of Salem Street.
Saturday, April 25, 5:30 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Complaint: An employee at Mandarin restaurant on the 200 block of Salem Street reported an intoxicated male driving off in a vehicle.
Saturday, April 25, 6:15 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-vehicle crash with no injuries occurred at Main Street and Franklin Street.
Sunday, April 26, 8:57 a.m. — Gas Odor: An outdoor odor of gas was reported near Birch Meadow Drive and John Carver Road; fire department responded.
Sunday, April 26, 1:25 p.m. — Abandoned Property: Suitcases were found abandoned outside a building at Archstone Circle (related to a prior case).
Sunday, April 26, 9:10 p.m. — Noise Complaint: A resident on the 200 block of Salem Street reported a noise complaint involving a neighbor's music.
