The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Reading Police Department's official public log for the period March 2–8, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).


Monday, March 2, 7:14 a.m.Road Closure: Sunnyside Avenue was closed from Echo Avenue to Vista Avenue.

Monday, March 2, 9:04 a.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A minor crash with no reported injuries was investigated on the 100 block of Summer Avenue.

Monday, March 2, 9:18 a.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash was investigated at Main and Washington Streets.

Monday, March 2, 11:38 a.m.Building Check: A window was found pushed in and a door issue noted at the 18 Union Street block.

Monday, March 2, 2:30 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A parked 2004 red Volvo was struck in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Walkers Brook Drive.

Monday, March 2, 3:39 p.m.Fraud (Attempted): A resident on the 49 High Street block reported receiving fraudulent phone calls.

Monday, March 2, 4:31 p.m.Lost and Found: A black Apple Watch was found near the 575 Main Street block.

Monday, March 2, 4:52 p.m.Motor Vehicle Complaint: A unit was flagged down for a reported road-rage incident on Haverhill Street near Wakefield Street.

Tuesday, March 3, 5:49 a.m.Commercial Alarm: A burglar alarm was triggered at the front door of the Shell Station on the 110 Main Street block.

Tuesday, March 3, 7:51 a.m.Road Closure: Middlesex Avenue was closed between Bancroft Avenue and School Avenue; police and fire were advised.

Tuesday, March 3, 2:41 p.m.Unwanted Guest: A parishioner reported a man sleeping inside St. Agnes Church on Woburn Street.

Tuesday, March 3, 4:08 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A motor vehicle swerved off the road on the 8 Rustic Lane block; no injuries reported.

Tuesday, March 3, 4:54 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with no injuries was investigated on the 99 Pearl Street block.

Tuesday, March 3, 5:27 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A motor vehicle struck a utility pole on the 136 Salem Street block; no injuries reported.

Tuesday, March 3, 5:34 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A box truck and an SUV went off the road at Salem and Eaton Streets.

Wednesday, March 4, 1:05 a.m.Hazard: Icy conditions were reported on several streets near Pleasant and Main Streets.

Wednesday, March 4, 4:04 a.m.Fire Alarm: A commercial fire alarm was triggered at the 1 High Street block.

Wednesday, March 4, 4:46 a.m.Disturbance: A noise complaint was received from a neighbor of Post 1917 Steakhouse on Haven Street.

Wednesday, March 4, 8:26 a.m.Traffic Control: A train gate was reported broken off at Washington and High Streets.

Wednesday, March 4, 9:54 a.m.Road Closure: A road closure was in effect at Melbourne Avenue and Cumberland Road.

Wednesday, March 4, 2:47 p.m.Fraud (Identity Theft): A caller on the 19 Percy Avenue block reported bank fraud.

Wednesday, March 4, 4:49 p.m.Suspicious Person: A person was reported soliciting money from passersby at the Shell Station on the 110 Main Street block.

Wednesday, March 4, 5:01 p.m.Fraud (Attempted): A resident on the 201 Grove Street block reported a potential Medicaid scam.

Thursday, March 5, 6:57 a.m.Carbon Monoxide Activation: A CO alarm activated on the 40 Whitehall Lane block; fire department responded.

Thursday, March 5, 7:32 a.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A minor crash involving black ice left a motor vehicle stuck in a snowbank at Birch Meadow Drive and Main Street.

Thursday, March 5, 7:37–7:38 a.m.Hazard: Black ice and icy sidewalk conditions were reported at Linden Street near Lowell Street and at King Street near Summer Avenue.

Thursday, March 5, 7:55 a.m.Unwanted Guest: A man was found sleeping in the lobby of Reading Co-Op Bank on Haven Street.

Thursday, March 5, 11:09 a.m.Hazard: A low-hanging wire was reported on the 52 Salem Street block.

Thursday, March 5, 10:15 a.m.Larceny (Shoplifting): A caller reported a previous theft at Liquor Junction on General Way.

Thursday, March 5, 2:05 p.m.Hazard: A low-hanging wire was reported on Middle Street.

Thursday, March 5, 9:38 p.m.Hazard: A water leak before the meter was reported at the CVS block on the 650 Main Street block.

Friday, March 6, 10:18 a.m.Larceny (Fraud): A resident on the 36 Parkview Road block reported a cryptocurrency scam resulting in monetary loss.

Friday, March 6, 3:37 p.m.Motor Vehicle Hit-and-Run: A male reported being involved in a hit-and-run at Main and Woburn Streets.

Friday, March 6, 7:48 p.m.Disturbance at Licensed Establishment: A large party refused to pay and caused a disturbance at Longhorn Steakhouse on Walkers Brook Drive.

Friday, March 6, 10:49 p.m.Animal Call: An injured deer was reported in the roadway on the 531 West Street block.

Saturday, March 7, 12:09 p.m.Fire Alarm: An odor was reported coming from the basement boiler room at the 2B Elderberry Lane building; fire department responded.

Saturday, March 7, 12:27 p.m.Fire/Emergency: A resident was reported stuck in an elevator at Solstice House on Middlesex Avenue; fire department responded.

Saturday, March 7, 3:49 p.m.Gas Odor: An inside odor of gas was reported at Capri Restaurant on the 355 Main Street block; fire department responded.

Saturday, March 7, 6:17 p.m.Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car crash with no injuries was investigated in the Golf Galaxy parking lot on Walkers Brook Drive.

Saturday, March 7, 9:08 p.m.Disturbance: Two children were reported on the roof of the Stop & Shop on Walkers Brook Drive, throwing snow.

Sunday, March 8, 3:42 p.m.Motor Vehicle Disabled: A disabled motor vehicle was reported at Main Street and Forest Glen Road.

Sunday, March 8, 6:06 p.m.Medical Emergency: A fall with unknown injuries was reported at the 10 Gleason Road block.
